Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! This year our Halloween is a little more relaxed then last year. We didn't throw a big party and are just hanging around the house all day. We have already had 3 trick-or-treaters which tripled our numbers from last year! HA!

At school my Fine Arts team decided to all dress as Waldo from the "Where's Waldo?" books. It was so much fun! We took plenty of pictures hiding among all the homeroom classes. But my favorite is the below picture of all 4 of us together!

Teacher Humor

We are now well in the throws of another school year. Frankly, by the time you hit October 1st you feel like you never left. Both of our years are going well, and its a little less stressful now that we are both tenured!

We came across this video created by the Onion and just had to share it with everyone. Enjoy!

Mexico!

We finally took a tropical vacation! We fell in love with the sun, the beaches, the pools and the hammocks. Our days were filled with basking in the sun and enjoying the drinks in the beautiful pools. It was wonderful and relaxing and just what we needed.

A Spot of Tea, Please

The fabulous foursome

Today, Aunt Kay and Uncle Ron came to visit. This was the first time they saw our house, so we gave them the grand tour ;) and then talked and caught up! Then, we headed downtown to the Drake Hotel for High Tea. I have always wanted to go, and thought Aunt Kay would love it as well. It was absolutely delightful! Good food, great atmosphere, and fabulous company!

New Paint

We've been on a painting binge this summer! We ripped out the vanity, cabinet, and lighting fixture and painted it blue!
Then this past Sunday my mom came up and we painted the kitchen. I was hesitant about the green color, but I'm falling in love with it!

3 Years and Counting

Yesterday we celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed every minute. Noah and I went with John to Gerhard's, a bakery/pastry shop, in Lake Forest. The atomosphere was great, the people we welcoming and the food was amazing! We both have eaten delicious treats that John has brought home, but had never been to the store before.

The afternoon was spent with our friends, next door neighbors Harry and Julie. We drank wine and watched the dogs play and wrestle.
Noah planned dinner and took me out to the restaurant we went to on our very first date. Overall, a lovely day. Thank you to everyone for the thoughtful emails, calls and cards.

Noah's New Hobby

Noah is teaching himself Bluegrass music on the Banjo this summer. For only playing the past 4 days, I think he is doing a remarkable job. He, of course, is his own worst critic, but is having a blast learning the "Top 10 Bluegrass Songs".

Here is a sample of Cripple Creek.
Batman loves the Banjo, too!

A Chicago Summer

Its been just under a year since our last post and we are finally back to our blog!

This is the first summer neither Noah or I have been working which is amazing! We are enjoying every minute possible.

Noah started his summer the week before me and celebrated with Jonah going on a mini-golf retreat up to Alpine Valley. Apparently it was a blast, and even included playing in the their bathing suits during a downpour!

My last day of school happened to be the same day that the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup! DOUBLE CELEBRATION! Allie is in Buenos Aires and unable to watch the game live, so we went on Skpe and she watched through our computer camera.

Noah and I also went to the Cubs vs. Sox game at Wrigley. We represented both sides and Jonah let me borrow is Schroer Cubs jersey (thanks bro!). Unfortunately the Cubs lost :(
Hope you are enjoying your summer as well!
